Lara has 26 years of experience teaching both primary and secondary students and adult learners.
She worked recently in Melbourne Victoria as the Principal Advisor for the National Partnership Initiative for the Australian Federal Government. This four-year nation- wide initiative involved leading a team of expert teachers, former principals and personnel from social service agencies to build teacher capacity in schools where economic, social and academic issues were evident. Lara’s work was with 43 schools in Victoria.
Prior to that Lara worked as a Lead Facilitator for the Te Kotahitanga Programme in secondary schools across in North and West Auckland. Her role was to help ensure the integrity of the approach across several schools and support the In School facilitators.
Lara has a strong interest in coaching and mentoring of teachers and school leaders. She now works for Evidence Based Educational Consulting Ltd providing in-depth support for teachers and leaders of all levels across all curriculum areas.
